About Your teacher I married my wonderful husband, David, in 2011 and am the mother of three beautiful children and two step children. In the evenings, I like to unwind by playing with my cats, cooking dinner with my husband and watching movies, and I admit to being a fan of the rom-com.
My hobbies include exploring with David on mini-road trips, working on home improvement or watching David work on his gardening projects in the summer. Our next project will be more remodeling of our home, and then taking our garden to a better level with a butterfly garden and birdhouse. I love to read, and often am drawn to young adult novels by authors like Jeri Spinelli, Roald Dahl or Avi; so I can always have good recommendations for my students. Above all, I am my happiest when spending quality time with my children. |
Who We Are |
In our classroom, my two most important goals are that students learn to take pride in who they are as people. I want my students to understand that being kind to one another is how they will learn to enjoy themselves as individuals. I also want my students to grow in their thinking about who they are, and what life can be for them. They do this by working hard in the classroom; by being positive and learning that when they are done struggling with a concept they will have grown as a student.

Expectations |
Boys and Girls,
I want you to learn a lot this year. To help with that we are going to be spending a lot of time reading, discussing what we have read, and then writing about our thoughts that we formed while reading. We will also be working hard learning to complete math procedures and to solve math problems. I think you will like this year. I know I will like being with you, and I know my favorite part of the day will be getting to know each one of you. I expect you to: 1. Have a positive attitude. 2. Be kind to your classmates and your teachers (Especially me.). 3. Be respectful of our class and class procedures. 4. Work hard during the day to get your work done. 5. Be honest. We will talk about what this means all year. Two specific rules: a. 4th graders don't cry and have tantrums. b. 4th graders are kind and nice to each other. No more bullying. |
